There was a legend of a monster that resided deep within the forest in a small settlement that was encircled by a pitch-black forest. The people in the village were afraid of it. They murmured tales of its deafening roar, keen claws, and flashing red eyes.
They were unaware, however, that Momo, the monster, was not at all frightening. His eyes shone, not because he was cruel, but because he needed to see in the dark, and he was large and shaggy.
Momo enjoyed painting drawings, baking cookies, and assisting stray animals in returning home. Everyone fled when they saw him, so he was just bashful.
A curious little girl named Lila made the decision to locate the monster one day. Because she thought everyone had excellent qualities, she wasn't scared by the stories.
After gathering a flashlight and her favorite cookies, she cautiously made her way into the woodland.
Lila noticed blazing eyes in the distance after a long trek. With a slightly shaky voice, she shouted out, "Hello?"
Momo appeared from behind one of the trees. In an attempt to avoid frightening her away, he said, "Hello," quietly.
Are you the monster that everyone is talking about? Lila tilted her head in question. "Well, I guess so," Momo sighed.
However, I don't wish to cause harm to anyone. I simply try to keep out of the way and live here.
Lila grinned. She held out her bag and said, "Do you like cookies?"
Momo's eyes glowed. He remarked, "I adore cookies!" as he carefully took one in his large, hairy hands.
Lila and Momo were best friends after that day. Momo created stunning scenes of the nature with the colors and brushes she brought him.
The villagers quickly realized Momo wasn't frightening once Lila showed them his artwork.
Momo was invited by the people to come to the village, where he shared stories about the animals he assisted and prepared cookies for everyone.
To honor their amiable monster, they even created a festival known as "Momo's Day."
The village discovered that sometimes what appears frightening is only someone waiting for a buddy, and Momo was never alone again.
