October brings a quiet light, Across the German land, A day to remember roads once split, And how we learned to stand. From northern winds to Alpine hills, The autumn colors glow, Through cities old and villages, The rivers gently flow. A wall once stood between two worlds, But walls can disappear, And what was divided long ago Can find its way back near. Today the bells and voices rise, The streets are filled with cheer, For freedom, peace, and unity That brought a country here. So let the flags fly in the breeze, Let friendship light the day, And may tomorrow build on hope In every step we take. Happy German Unity Day— May unity shine bright, And may Germany move forward With courage, peace, and light.
